KENTUCKY CYCLING VACATION

Itinerary:

October 23: Welcome to Lexington! / Welcome Dinner
Welcome to Kentucky and Horse Country! Following your arrival into Bluegrass Airport in Lexington, we will transfer you to our four-star hotel in downtown Lexington, Hotel 21C. If you are driving into Lexington, please plan on meeting us at the hotel by 3:00 p.m. Following check-in for the next three nights, go for a short warm-up spin before our “Welcome Meeting” and group dinner this evening!

October 24: Horse Country Loop. Enjoy breakfast at the Hotel 21C in downtown Lexington before venturing out into the rolling countryside of Kentucky’s famed Horse Country. Along the way, we’ll enjoy lunch out in the countryside at a local’s favorite before returning to our hotel. This evening, explore the downtown restaurant scene in Lexington with dinner on your own.

October 25: Red River Gorge Cycling Adventure! Following breakfast, enjoy a short transfer before experiencing one of the most beautiful rides in Kentucky that is off the beaten path - Red Rock Canyon! Nestled in the Daniel Boone National Forest, you’ll cycle past towering sandstone cliffs and crags, waterfalls, arches, and natural bridges. Following your adventure on two wheels, we’ll refuel on some of the finest pizza in the region!

October 26: Lexington to Versailles. This morning, we will depart Lexington by bike and ride into some of Kentucky’s most beautiful Horse Country on our way to the luxurious Kentucky Castle! In addition, we will also have the opportunity to experience a full guided tour of one of Kentucky’s most famous distilleries, Woodford Reserve, where we’ll enjoy a private tasting. This evening, we’ll enjoy a chef-prepared group dinner inside the Castle to finish off this memorable day!

October 27: Versailles to Harrodsburg. Today we will cycle into Kentucky’s famed Bourbon Country as we ride to Harrodsburg, the state’s oldest town. Upon our arrival, we will check into the Beaumont Inn, named “one of the South’s Top 20 Charming Inns” by Southern Living Magazine, for one night. Afterwards, we’ll visit the largest restored Shaker community in the United States where we’ll learn about their iconic architecture and skilled craftsmanship. They have lived in this village for 105 years, and during that time constructed over 260 buildings, of which 34 of the original buildings still stand. This evening, we’ll enjoy the local establishments in downtown Harrodsburg for dinner.

October 28: Harrodsburg to Lexington. Enjoy a full Southern breakfast at the inn before departing on our final ride through the picturesque countryside and horse farms. Following the completion of our ride, we’ll transfer you back to Lexington and the Hotel 21C. From here, you can stay an extra night (at your own expense), catch an evening flight home, or depart Lexington on your own.
