Itinerary
July 21: Welcome to the French Alps / Welcome Meeting and Dinner
Following your arrival at the Grenoble TGV Station, we will transfer you to the legendary French Alps and our four-star hotel atop the Col du Lautaret with it’s stunning views of the surrounding peaks! Following check-in for the next two nights, build up your bike with the assistance of our professional mechanics or fine-tune your rental bike before enjoying a short spin to loosen up. This evening, we’ll kick off your vacation with our “Welcome Meeting and Dinner.”
July 22 - Col de Galibier Loop
Begin your day with a relaxed breakfast overlooking the awe-inspiring Alps before enjoying a short warm-up spin to the ski village of Serre Chevalier. Afterwards, get ready to ride up the legendary pass that has been featured in the Tour de France for over 100 years - the “beyond category” Col de Galibier! Celebrate your accomplishment and admire the stunning scenery at the summit before enjoying the thrilling descent back to our hotel. This evening, fuel up with a hearty alpine dinner and some award-winning wine from the nearby Rhone Valley.
July 23: Col de Lautaret to L’Alpe d’Huez
Enjoy breakfast and a cafe au lait overlooking the surrounding peaks before getting ready for one of the most memorable rides of your life! Following a 20-mile descent to Bourg d’Oisans, you’ll ride through the stunning alpine countryside of the Ecrins National Park before challenging yourself on the most famous 21-switchbacks in all of cycling with the ascent up L’Alpe d’Huez! Celebrate your accomplishment tonight by exploring the local brasseries in town for dinner on your own.
July 24: Col de Glandon / Tour de France Stage 18
Following breakfast, enjoy warming up as you ride to the village of Allemond before getting ready to ride up the Col de Glandon, one of the Tour’s most historical climbs! This afternoon, you’ll experience all the craziness of the Publicity Caravan before cheering on the Yellow Jersey and the rest of the peloton as they race up this monumental climb on Stage 18! Choose to ride back to our hotel atop L’Alpe d’Huez or take the shuttle van before watching the live finish this afternoon. This evening, we’ll celebrate our time in the French Alps with a delicious group dinner!
July 25: L’Alpe d’Huez to Bagnols / Burgundy Wine Country / Farewell Dinner
Enjoy your final breakfast in the Alps before we transfer to the Burgundy wine region and our five-star hotel, the Chateau de Bagnols! Following check-in, we’ll ride through the world-famous Beaujolais vineyards before returning to the chateau to catch the live finish of today’s epic Tour stage. This evening, we’ll celebrate your adventure with our “Farewell Dinner!”
July 26: Transfer Day
Savor your final breakfast at the chateau before we transfer you to the Lyons TGV Station. From here, you can get a high-speed train to Paris, Geneva, Nice, or other destinations in Europe.
